About the CD:

 

Many Seattleites know the wonderful Hans Brehmer, a Seattle jazz icon. He is now in CA and before he left I wanted to get some sounds with him “in the vault”. He’s featured on both piano and vocals on this CD. You’ll also hear Paul Gabrielson on bass and Ron Peters on guitar.

 

I decided to sing “Silent Night” on “oo’s” rather than sing the lyrics, for a more universal appeal. In 2026 I’ll be working on more arrangements like this for a whole CD of that genre. It’s classically oriented and has been described as a “celestial listening experience”. I’m excited about creating more of these arrangements.

 

The cover art is the street I grew up on in south Minneapolis highlighting the elegant winter arms of the giant Elm trees that lined our street. As kids we used to climb the large evergreen on the left and spy on passers-by. ha!
