I specialize in teaching high school juniors and seniors who are prepping for acting and musical theater college auditions. I will work with you on vocal technique as well as helping you to find the best audition cuts for your voice and personality. It’s a big process and not to be taken lightly. Kim Maguire is a professional educator and musical theatre college audition coach with more than 30 years of experience in the performing arts. She has taught private voice and audition preparation for over three decades, working with students at all levels of development.
​
Her extensive professional performance background directly informs her teaching approach. She specializes in preparing students for competitive musical theatre college auditions, guiding them through repertoire selection, audition cuts, acting through song, and overall artistic presentation. Her work emphasizes focused preparation, artistic clarity, and long-term development.
Kim’s students have earned admission to some of the nation’s top musical theatre and music programs, including NYU, the University of Michigan, Boston Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, the University of Miami, and the Rice University Opera Program.

Her students have also performed leading roles on Broadway and at major regional theaters including The 5th Avenue Theatre, Intiman Theatre, and ACT Theatre in Seattle; Chicago Shakespeare Theater; The Ordway in St. Paul; and in cabaret performances at 54 Below in New York City, among many others.

In addition to private instruction, Kim has produced and directed more than 25 student cabarets across multiple genres. She maintains high professional standards while helping students develop both technical strength and a clear artistic voice.
